About Me

Hello! My name is Mylie James. I am married to a fantastic man that truly is my soulmate. I know, I know. I never believed in soulmates before either! But I cannot imagine someone more suited to me and my life than him. We got married in June 2014 after dating for 4 & 1/2 years. Here is a peek at our wedding. It was a very emotional day!

I am a proud mommy to an Australian Shepherd named D'Artagnan (like the Three Musketeers) and a Miniature Australian Shepherd named Genevieve (from the Madeline books). Since I do not currently have any kids of my own, they are my pride and joy! They are so squishy and fluffy!

 My husband and I met while attending Texas Tech University. We love gameday in Lubbock, TX and cannot wait till we get to go back to our "home" each year! Go Red Raiders! Wreck 'Em!

I received a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies (1/2 special ed & 1/2 early childhood) as well as a Master of Education in Special Education from Texas Tech University. Told you we love our school! I got my certificate in Library Science from the University of North Texas. I also have a Master of Science in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. 

I am currently in my 11th year as an educator and am in my 5th year as a library media specialist. I spent 2 years as an elementary library media specialist before moving up to the high school level. I spent the first 6 years of my career as a special education middle school math teacher. Middle school, eeeewwww!! I can already hear it from the elementary peeps. No really, though... I loved it! And look, we can have fun too!
